2022
Graphic Design & Marketing

Internship In 2022, I was accepted into the NASCAR Diversity Internship Program (NDIP). Myself and 35 other talented college students of color were selected for various roles around the motorsports industry. For 10 weeks, I was based in Daytona Beach, FL, working as a graphic designer for The NASCAR Foundation and their charitable efforts for hospitalized children in the NASCAR community.

Project #1
2021 Annual Report
Editorial and Print

I designed the 2021 NASCAR Foundation Annual Report, which recapped the Foundation’s achievements from the previous year. This project gave me a solid understanding of the Foundation’s initiatives and strengthened my skills in editorial design. I adapted their existing brand guidelines and imagery bank to create various editorial layouts and spreads.

Project #2
Taste of the 24
Branding, Web and Digital

The Taste of the 24 is a dining experience that takes place during the annual Rolex 24 hour race at Daytona International Speedway.

I was given the opportunity to create a basic set of brand guidlines for the event, based on the existing logo designed by the NASCAR design team. These guidelines are still used today, after my departure. I also designed various assets for the event, such as flyers, signs, and badges.

I also designed the landing page, ticket sales page, and sponsors page for the Taste of the 24. I built the website under the constraints of the Wordpress plugin provided by NASCAR, which limited design to basic column layouts. I used Adobe After Effects to create video banners and PS and AI for static graphics.

The resulting Taste of the 24 website made it far easier for customers to learn more about the event and purchase tickets. Prior to the website, event goers had to call in to purchase tickets.

Project #3
2022 Internship Case Study Competition
Proposal Deck and Presentation

Together with a team of 5 other interns, we presented a proposal deck for a new NASCAR social strategy. We conducted business analysis, and pitched talent, budget, and a timeline. I had a major role in strategy and designed the entire deck template from scratch.

Project #4
License to Drive
Branding and Digital

License to Drive is an initiative where donors can drive their personal vehicles on Daytona International Speedway. I was given the opportunity to design a logo for the event. The logo incorporates NASCAR colors and branding, and the shape of the Daytona speedway.
